Red Velvet Cake-Red Rocks

This artwork is part of the Red Rocks series. Some big rocks and mesas remind me of cakes, the way you can see the layers in them. When I was a child, I thought red velvet cake was pretty awesome.

In my artworks, I try to use materials that would otherwise go to waste. So to me they act as little reminders of how pretty nature is when we take care of it. All the cardboard involved is ethically sourced from my recycling bin, lovingly basted with vibrant acrylic paint, and then dissected and reassembled into the red rock formations you see. It measures just under 5″ x 7″ and comes ready to hang on your wall.
